I had an October baby boom this year–starting with little Miss Mia. She slept like a dream!
You’ve seen this little guy before! I can’t believe he is almost 2 already! It was such a great night for our session and I love how the ones of little Will turned out. He has such beautiful blue eyes!
I don’t even know where to begin with this post. You’ve seen these two floating around my work before. They were my first guinea pigs back when I decided I’d give this photography thing a go and now I’ve seen them through multiple family sessions, a pregnancy reveal, a gender reveal, maternity sessions, and now this. Amanda told me she was pregnant very early (I joked with her that she must have texted me before her husband knew
). Anyway, we decided long ago we were going to try to make this happen, and by this, I mean photographing the birth of her second child. We didn’t know exactly how it would work seeing that I live 2.5 hours away from where she would deliver. She also had a very premature delivery with her first son, so knowing that I could likely be “on-call” for quite a long time, we just weren’t sure.
I woke up to a few texts from Amanda that she was having some pretty painful contractions and that she’d let me know if she was going in. I was on alert, but she was still 5 weeks out, so at this point I had no idea how my day would unfold. A few texts messages later they were admitting her and she was already 5 cm dilated! At this point I was pretty sure there was no way I’d make it, considering she walked into the hospital with her first son at 9cm! I told her to constantly keep me updated as I made my way down to Winona. I gave her updates on where I was along the way and I arrived at the hospital somewhere around 12:30.
Miles Nelson arrived about 2 short hours laterI’ll let the images do the rest of the storytelling.
